Features and Benefits of Membership

No person can be accepted for examination whilst still holding Membership of an Association which is not affiliated to the British Dance Council. Application Forms and information may be obtained from the General Secretary of the Association. To comply with the Child Protection Act, your application will be accepted on the understanding that you do not hold any conviction which could be in violation of this act.

Candidates completed form, with appropriate fee must be forwarded to General Secretary at least thirty days prior to date of examination. Secretary will notify applicant as to when and where examination will take place. Candidates who fail to appear will forfeit their fee, unless a written explanation is forwarded to the General Secretary. The Examiners decision is final. No correspondence or verbal discussion can be entered into regarding the Examiners report.

All subscriptions payable on the first of January each year, in the case of Examinations held after the first November, no subscription shall be payable for the remaining portion of the year.

 Students: Candidates must be sixteen years of age or over. Students over the age of eighteen,having qualified are expected to take their Associate Examination after a period of one year. They are entitled to attend all meetings and lectures but have no vote.

 Associate: Candidates must be eighteen years of age or over.

Member: Candidates must be twenty one years of age or over, with two years experience as a teacher.

Fellow: Candidates must be twenty five years of age or over and have held Membership for three years in the branch concerned.
